How to Make Your Good Intentions Even More Powerful

Today we wrap up our three-day series on setting, living, and refining your best intentions with Step 3 in this simple, yet powerful, practice.

To recap, two days ago, we talked about taking a few minutes when you wake up each morning to define something that you want to grow in your life, visualize it, and feel yourself being successful in “that.”

In Step 2, yesterday, we talked about how to live that good intention by scheduling time for it or making it part of an already scheduled activity or event every day.

Step 3 follows these first two steps—at the end of the day. Before you go to sleep at night, when you’re lying in bed, take a moment to review your good intention and the action that you took to realize it that day.

Ask yourself, “What went well and what would I like to do differently?” If you didn’t take your scheduled action or practice your good intention as you planned, review what happened instead. Did you forget? Did you do something else instead? Or did it just not go as you planned.

Be as factual and self-accepting as possible. See as clearly as you can, what worked for you and what didn’t work for you in relation to your intended action. Ask yourself: “What is the best way to move my intention forward? In light of what happened today, what is my next step? What will I do tomorrow?”

When you wake up the next morning, begin again with Step 1 and repeat all three steps in that new day.

If you consistently follow these three steps you’ll be on your way to living your best intentions and sharing your gifts with the world.

    Thank you for doing that!
