Welcome! I’m Kevin Schoeninger. Today I am going to guide you through a powerful exercise to help you connect with YOUR true purpose, your HIGHER calling, the reason that you are here on this Earth.
First, I have something really important to share with you.
It’s so important and so crucial, that it will affect YOUR ENTIRE LIFE – your health, relationships, and how much money is in your pocket. It will affect ALL YOUR SUCCESS (or lack of it) with the law of attraction. If you “get” what I’m about to tell you, then everything you consciously intend through the law of attraction will work 1000% better. If you don’t get this, you set yourself up for more frustration.
It’s a “biggie” and guess what, nobody talked about it in “the Secret”. And as far as I know, nobody talks about this in any of the “secret behind ‘the Secret’ programs!” J
Are you ready?
Well here it is…
Your Life Has A Purpose
Not MANY possible purposes… Not “all the money, success and results you could want”… Not infinite possibilities.
BUT SPECIFIC POSSIBILITIES. You are here to manifest a small number of unique opportunities. There’s ONE unique path that’s right for you. Not many, not infinite, but ONE.
So often we get stuck because we see too many choices, too many competing desires, too many mixed messages. When you know your CORE possibility — what’s highest and best for you, right here, right now — two things happen. First, you’re MUCH happier and more fulfilled. Second, you will be much more effective at manifesting what you truly desire.
So the following exercise is all about discovering your purpose and living your dream. Because when you do, your intention will be multiplied through the law of attraction. People will be amazed at how things are happening for you in your life. And when you tap into this level, the rest of what you want comes along with it
And I believe you’re listening to me now for that very reason
So what I’d like you to do right now is to find a quiet, private space, and reserve a few minutes to go through an inner journey. Turn off your phone and let the outer world recede into the background.
Find a comfortable seat and sit in an upright position with your hands cupped in your lap, one resting in the other. Lightly close your eyes and take several slow deep breaths. As you inhale, imagine and feel that your whole body is filling up with your breath. As you exhale, imagine and feel that your whole body is emptying out.
If any thoughts, worries, memories, or anxieties come into your inner space, recognize them, accept that they are there, then let them go and return to your breathing. Allow your breath to clear your inner space. Become absolutely interested in following your breath, as if nothing else matters at this moment. Breathe consciously for the next thirty seconds.
Now imagine that your inner space is completely clear. Imagine yourself as a blank screen. Imagine that you’ve cleaned the slate of your life so that you can picture, write, say, or define your life in any way you desire. Right now you have a fresh start.
Imagine what I’m about to describe from the most positive perspective. Allow the following possibility to guide you to hone in on what is most important to you.
Imagine that this is your last day on earth. If any anxiety about this possibility comes into your inner space, recognize it, accept it completely, let it go, and return to imagining this last day in the most positive way.
As you go through the following questions, some specific images or feelings may arise. Whether something specific appears, or not, the important thing is to take this time to feel inside, to ask the questions and be receptive to inner guidance.
Whatever happens, or doesn’t happen, is O.K. Simply be open, attentive, and relaxed.
Now, because this is your last day on earth, you will do only what is most important to you.
What is most important to you for your health, for your relationships, for fully expressing who you are and what you are here to do? If this were your last day on earth, what would you get busy doing? How would you care for yourself, what would you do or say to others, what would you make sure that you accomplished to feel good about this day?
Is there anything that you’ve meant to do, but haven’t gotten around to? What are your dreams?
What legacy do you want to leave? If what you thought, felt, said, and did today were the record and the contribution that you would leave behind, what would your day be like? What would you do?
Allow your best possibilities to take center stage. Feel the inspiring urgency to bring these possibilities into being right here and now.
Take a minute to write down whatever feels most important to you from this inner experience.
And please leave your comment on the blog! I love to hear your feedback!!!

Good Meditation! Probably one that I will try for a week. I think there is good value in the thoughts but you have to get beyond “OMG! Today is my last day!!!! But I have so much to do. And how do I die? And what am I going to miss?
The part I like the best is “What is your legacy? Perhaps a similar track focused just on that question would be very interesting.
Thanks for the download

This took me to a place of clarity that I really want right now. I am putting together a very special book for musicians and during this exercise I could see the finished product – it looks beautiful, is fun to use and I see it being well received! It is interesting that the concept of sharing was the “purpose” I found myself drawn to in this meditation.
Very special meditation you have shared with us! Thank you!

This was a good way to start my day. Faced with challenging possibilities at work… I found myself being very clear that I would want the people I love around me so that I could tell them how much they mean to me and how much I love them all. Feeling the warmth of the people I love near to me is the more important than anything; but completing my work legacy is a close second. I liked the perception of last day on Earth as a microcosm or as if every thing I said or do on my last day was my only legacy and how I would be “remembered” by those I assoicate with throughout my last day. Very good reminder of the importance of being present for you life and the people in your life.

Hi Matt
I certainly feel and practice the importance of finding your life’s purpose and the scenario you created is a good one. However this whole “Secret” phenomenon seems to me to be the tail wagging the dog. How many of us know ourselves and our connectedness with all of creation so completely that we could know exactly what things or course of direction not to mention the perfect timing, that would be best for us. It would seem to me to be more realistic to pray or meditate with an open mind and an open heart with the full expectation that what is truly appropriate for us on a daily basis will present itself. If we ask for anything, it seems to me that clarity and courage would be most useful. What’s best for us is not always a bouquet of roses. Thank you for your good work.

Every life has an ultimate purpose. Of course it is to connect daily with your own inner peace, love and joy so that life of purpose will be fulfilled with each and very breath. How easy we forget to do that in the midst of daily living. Instead we create or get caught up in chaos. Once we connect back to ourselves and practice this daily connection with mind, body and spirit we can live touch others powerfully and so that they can experience wonder of thier own. frances@lifeskillspractitoner.com

I listened to the core energy technique this morning and realized that the best thing I could do was to have a clear mind that was connected to the universe. I realized that if I could bring that one thing into my life I could more effectively help my family, my patients, and the world. Then I listened to this meditation and realized that I spend much of my time planning on doing things to help and connect with family and friends instead of just doing it. Wow! I feel great!!! This meditation was my invitation to communicate my truth fearlessly. The truth that we are all One and that we all make a difference in each others lives. Validating each person in my life through their contribution to my spiritual growth with love and forgiveness would be what I would do on my last day. I thank you for your contribution to my life and Unity Consciousness.

This beautiful meditation came along just at the right time for me. As a retired clinical scientist,I am in the process of reinventing myself. I would like all people to know who they really are, that nothing exists outside of their own creations and that life is eternal. We all have a unique combination of talents. Let us all reflect and utilize this technique to gift this planet with our individual expression of divinity to the service of all. Thank You very much.

Hi, as I went through the meditation I felt some anxiety at knowing I would be leaving and at the same time knowing I would be going to join other loved ones. What I would do would be to travel to see each of my 3 children and my grandchildren to hold them in my arms one last time and to let them know how much I love them and that although I might not be visible to them I would always be with them. During the travelling time I would be calling my sisters and brothers and close friends to say goodbye and tell them I love them. That is what I would do with my last day on earth.

What a wonderful download – I sometimes don’t feel like I’ve accomplished all that I should have in life – but this has shown me that I really have. If this was my last day on earth, without a second thought, I would spend it telling my friends and family that I love them. Simple as that – I have wonderful daughters and sisters, a husband who adores me and friends going back over almost 60 years. I think that I will sit right down now and write Christmas cards to my family and friends telling them all just how much they mean to me. You never know – it really could be my last day on earth!

Thank you for your kind sharing. I enjoyd the meditation and love you voice. Much appreciated. I got into a lovely place, but if I were to be honest, I have a problem with this meditation being one to find purpose. Being the last day of my life did not motivate me to find my purpose at all. I went into a space of – well, if this is my last day what’s the point of looking for my purpose? No time to do anything about it anyway. I’ll just sit in a peaceful and loving space, spend time with my loved ones and eat lots of mangoes!!!
Although I loved the meditation, one just on the topic of what legacy you have left would be more appropriate to purpose??
Thank you thank you thank you

Calming meditation, especially on a morning in which the terms:
‘This isn’t working.’
‘What are you doing?’
and
‘I feel stupid.’
came spontaneously to my lips, loudly. While my ‘true purpose’ DID NOT leap out to me, I look forward to this happening as I listen to this meditation again and again.
I would truly benefit from a 1-on-1 connection with Kevin. I do feel this overwhelming landslide of negativity on a regular basis. It seems to be a bit less as time goes on, or is it that I’m getting used to it?? I hope not.

Hi Guys!
That’s awesome to see such great feedback!
I see a few people were disappointed with a lack of instant results. Let me echo Kevin’s advice for when your entire life plan isn’t revealed inside of 5 minutes
Stay with this inner process, give time and space to yourself and let whatever arises (or not) be okay. The important thing is that you have taken time for yourself in this inner experience.
More good stuff on the way!
All the best,
Matt

I think I would at first go into a sort of state of shock in which I would think to myself, “crikey, my last freakin day, well what the hell was all this (life) for”. Then I would perhaps conclude that I have achieved what I came to do, and I really think that’s the case anyway, even though I don’t really know what that is:)
Then I’d lighten up a bit and think “gee this is going to be a scary interesting ride”, and I ‘d break out a bottle of wine and get happy drunk.
But I think what the meditation is designed to do is make us feel an acute sense of what we haven’t achieved yet that we have always wanted to achieve, and that could be absolutely anything, it doesn’t need to be some “noble or sacred goal”, and the only thing that I haven’t achieved up to this point in my life, and its something that I have always wanted, is to have fun and be myself and happy about who I am and spontaneous, relaxed and happy/joyful in every moment.
I am not saying that’s what I would do in the last few minutes of my life if I was going to die tomorrow, (not until I got happy drunk anyway) but it’s what I believe I would give as an answer if someone said to me, “what would you like to think you’d go off and do if you thought you were going to die tomorrow and then found out that you actually have another 40 years of healthy life left”

This was quite the experience for me. I began to cry because I felt like I haven’t been doing anything right. I didn’t spend any time with people. I just watched the most gorgeous sunrise, basked in the energy, climbed a tree and sent peaceful loving energy to the world. Now, where do I go from here? I still have to make a living in this world.

Daniel Said,

But that’s no different from what I have been using law of attraction methods, since I found out about them, to achieve anyway, so its good to know that my deep deep deep desires and my surface desires are one and the same. That means that I am definitely going to achieve them, yay. (hehe)

I understand what you are trying to do. However, my mind would not let any “Divine Purpose” come to mind if it were my last day. The only thing would be to enjoy the day. I feel the meditation would be more effective if you used if you only had 2 years left to live or 6 months. I think the absolute “must do” would present itself.

Hi Kevin,
Serendipitous timing – for some reason I was thinking about this the other day driving home from work. Then your email arrives two days later. Focusing and meditating on this does tend to strip away in a hurry what is unimportant and clarifies where my heart really is. That’s on sharing loving moments with my family and taking the time to do healing work with those who desire it. I wouldn’t waste a minute of that day!
Thanks for the lovely meditation.

Thanks again for participating in this exercise and for all the comments.
Responses to a few of the comments:
There was a thread of comments about “what is the point of purpose or health if this is my last day?” One of the essential skills of the approach we’re exploring in “The Life You Are Meant to Live Program” is that your purpose can be discerned in each moment and it applies to this moment right now–whether it is your last moment on earth or not.
One of the comments talked about how we can’t know this for sure anyway, so it’s best to just be open. While openness is certainly the right attitude, it is my experience that I can learn to discern exactly what I am here to do and the exact timing. It is a matter of developing inner senses and skills as well as knowing how to discern what is off track and how to let it go.
To Russ, who commented about 1 on 1 interaction with me, that’s one of the things our Spiritual Growth Monthly membership includes. You can always email me with your specific questions privately as well as discussing them with other members in our Discussion.
Thanks again to each of you for sharing your experiences and your insights.

Kevin,
Thank you for the meditation in which I spent the day walking a sunny, windy, beach, communing with dolphins and basking in love and the happiness of knowing my mission was complete. I had learned to pay attention to the guidance of my own soul and I had raised a daughter in the wisdom and freedom to do the same. I remembered that I had along the way, as the moments presented themselves, reminded other mothers of the importance of the words they used in speaking with their young children and I knew that wether or not lives were changed, I had done what I came to do. I had learned thru my own childhood suffering and I had used what I learned. I was ready to go and I was very, very happy.
Please accept my sincere gratitude for your work.

Thanks, Matt. I will need to try this again. All I “got” was I would get to some place warm and sunnny and get in an alcoholic haze until I died.
I marvel at the timimg of this teaching for I am digging into the purpose question more deeply than ever. I have yet to get beyond blank frustration when asked to picture or feel what I would do if I only had limited time left on this earth. I want to know, but, for now, nothings really “comes.” I have been asked what did I want to do as a child. Play quaterback for the Baltomore Colts, I answer…no help there. I could go on but I won’t.
What I will do is keep at it, and trust that I really am here for a purpose, and I will continue to seek. Sometimes I am hopeful; sometimes, not so much.
I ‘d like to ask someone,”Why is it so hard to find out what we were meant to do?” Seems as though if we are here for a reason we could find it fairly easily..I guess not..

A few comments on your meditation question. First, meditation begins with where you are and accepting the process exactly as it is for you here and now. Many people would be glad to be able to have the blank, no mind state, without the constant chatter of thoughts and images. So, be glad to have that ability.
Second, we each have dominant ways that we access information. Some of us visualize better, some conceptualize, some verbalize, some feel, some sense in a physical or kinesthetic way. Meditation can begin by using whatever is your dominant mode of perception and expand from that.
Ask yourself what is the easiest way for you to access and remember experiences. If it is through sound, a chanting meditation may suit you to begin with. If through inner feeling, or sensation, or visualization of light you might enjoy qigong meditation. What is the easiest way to focus your attention? If it begins with a blank, dark, inner space you can go deeper into that and find the deep peace, silence, and stillness in that experience.
Once you are absorbed in whatever you are focusing on, become aware of yourself as the observer of that experience. Become aware of yourself as the witnessing presence that is viewing or inhabiting the particular experience you are having. Identify your self with conscious presence instead of with the contents of your experience. This is a doorway to freedom.
Enjoy your practice,
Kevin

Thank you for your generosity with sharing such helpful materials. I loved the meditation. It is interesting as I work in the end of life field. Some people express their regrets at not having had the time they need to say their goodbyes and express thanks and love to those in their lives. Some feel that they have missed out on doing what they came to do – it is a very sad experience. Those who do this meditation have the opportunity to live their lives with a clearer sense of purpose and a chance to do the things that others have not had the opportunity to do. Make the most of your time on earth – it is your purpose and passion that make the world a better place.

Thanks a lot for the download. On my first trial I could feel the empty space within yet death was so close by and I’m so scared. Anyway as you said to accept it and let it go by; but then the surge of urgency creep in that there’s so much to be done in the shortest possible time.
I hope to do it better in the near future.
May God bless you herein and hereafter.

Ibrahim

Thank you. This exercise helped to clarify a lot of the different material I keep getting in my “inbox”. The “Secret” tells everyone that they can be what they want to be but even after watching, reading, listenting, and striving to work with the “Laws”, I have never been able to sit down and figure out just what I should be striving toward. This message helps. Again, thanks

It really gives a good idea to isolate your single most desire, but this basic assumption …… that this is the last day of your life on this earth is very negative on the subconscious level. Rather, we may assume a single wish that higher intellegence has allowed you for manifestation for this day and this week………or you can choose any other positive base.
Thanks.

I had three basic things written down, First was Being with my husband, assuring a good future for my children, (I thought about the important things I would tell them and I would do to assure they have a good life) and Helping others to build their lives.
That lets me know that I am a good person, I just don’t know how to accomplish my goals.
This was a nice Mediation Thank You.

At the beginning was too much talking before you got down to the meditation.
The meditation was excellent, it made me very relaxed all the way to the end.
Then when Matt started talking it was such a jolt back to reality that it
really irritated me. If you could just do the set up and meditation and gradually bring us back to the Beta brain wave that would be better.
Thank you

Hi
This was an excellent meditation, wherein all I could feel was that I am passing on and sharing my inner light with all those who need it. I would also like to tell you that I had the srong urge to just practise “Going into the Light
“, the “Art of Dying”, as the Tibetans and the Jains practise it.

this was helpful for me. Received all my transcripts in mail months ago and have been procrastinating. Plan to bring them in and get going on furthering education. I enjoyed breathing into my entire body. Also liked the huge blank screen that came to me. It was different and more real this time for some reason. But it being my last day—couldn’t put much on it cuz no time left. lol.
Thank you for the meditations — you are generous and loving. May u be blessed BIG every minute of every day.

Well, Ive got to finish replacing the kitchen plumbing, 5-8 days, the kitchen electric, 2-4 days, build the cabinetwork and then install them and a counter top so that my bride (of 30 yrs) can use her kitchen! I have to complete the main electric panel change over to 200 amp for the above to work, I’ve got to finish constructing the new bedroom for our oldest son who is coming back home for a spell, I need to change the water heat over to a demand system and patch the leaks in the heat ducts as we remodeled the house this year. so I don’t have time to do all this in one day, or month, maybe a year , if luck is with me, Eh?

I believe my purpose is to love. The love of so many gifts around me.My love of trees, sunrises & Sunsets. My children & granchildren. Family home cooked meals For me Love is all there is. My last day I would be giving Thanks to God for the gift of life and every minute I had left to admire his wonders. This was my first real meditation and found the breathing difficult as I have OLPD. But it worked.I visualized the inner cleansing & it felt good. I will play this over & over Thank-you & Thank-you God!

Dear Matt & Kevin…
Thanxz for sharing this with us..
It’s kind of funny in a way..
This week I have actually been
thinking just this!
I am a very spiritual being
& have studied Many Types
of Religion, prior to choosing
Spirituality..
What I have been (toying with)
is the idea, of just that..
In all beliefs, there is a creator..
One would not just make all kinds of
people of all kinds of backgrounds to
just: be here for nothing.. I’m thinking
the Creator had a specific Idea of what he
wanted (the people) to contribute or accomplish
in their time here.
Also, I live this…. I read a quote that said:
LIVE AS IF TODAY WAS YOUR LAST DAY
DREAM AS IF YOU’LL LIVE FOREVER!
source is unknown..
You have given me some more food for thought
as to what I have been thinking about & validated
my Idea..Letting me know I am on the right path.
Thanxz again.

Hello again! I do not know what your conscious awareness program entails, so let me just write this as a for-thought: All of life is in the moment, in this instant, in between breaths, where all past, present and future is. It is in the moment that all of life is created. I look forward to learning more of your program that appears to consolidate bits and pieces of truth and wisdom from around the world. Respectfully, Stan

Hi Kevin
I’m going to express an opinion here that I hope you will take as being both positive and constructive. I have been a musician/ performer as well as a song writer for a number of years. ( no, I’m not famous. ) but I do have some understanding of what it takes to connect with people authentically. In the past I have experimented with some of the meditations of Kelly Howell from Brain Sync. Same experience. Your writing is very good but I think your delivery needs some work. The intonation of your voice is too forced, trying to produce a soothing effect and to intimate intensity and integrity there is an unnatural flow of speech. Perhaps you could study some great orators and then just be yourself. I think you have the tools. All the best, Roy

Thank you. I have always {since a child} had a desire to let people know how valuable their are. Their worth. How they can make {and do make} a difference in others lives and in this world. I’ve always had a strong desire to see people healed in their heart and spirit. Not sure what I can do with that. Thank you again..it was a good refresher for me.

Dear Kevin,It’s amazing, thank you for sharing it with us.The same question I heard when I was 8 only.I had many dreams,I failed every one of them.I had that moment of feelings, is this my last minute and I close my eyes in front of my son.I’ve seen my own funeral, I felt re born thanks to my son who bring me bake from death.I’ve been many unknown places, lots of life’s experience, never had a chance to share with others. In this moment,I felt sudden love of my life and off course my loving children and start thinking about my old father who gave me life, who love me so much. thank you for reminding me of my Dream. Today I have Hope. You gave me hope to keep my dream alive.thank you.My sincere love to you and your family and I wish you have the Peace, joy, health and prosperous life.

I am really struggling with getting in touch with my inner self. When I listen to the guided meditations, I feel relaxed and then get feeling a bit tipsy (?), and i begin to see a fantastic light show or sometimes the light seems so bright i want to close my eyes -and realize they are closed- then nothing… either anxiety or simply emptiness and I restlessness.

Hi i listened to the meditation and read all the comments-as stated in reality being the last day if we were aware of it would leave a lot thought but little time to close circles and undo knots – did we accomplish all we planned -answer no-will we answer yes, in this fagile time of existance on this planet we still have unfinished business to fullfill -why were be born here on planet earth – the divine will of creator -God to serve His Divine purpose and that not of our selves -to know his Divine Love and purpose He has chosen for us – to spread His Love and Joy and Peace to all of His creation -to be spiritally aware of His presence ,- can we accomplish all of this in a life time — no, but being eternally created the purpose does not ellude us for by Divine intervention It will be accomplished as our Names were chosen before the foundations of earth and the hairs on our head were numbered Oh what great creation. my legacy in His perfection He has made me perfect.
